0 891

Over the last couple of weeks, you might have seen several PUBG memes while scrolling through your social timeline. Some of you might be knowing what it is whereas rest of you are left wondering. So, Gadget2Buy team has decided to write an exclusive article on PUBG to tell you everything about it.

What is PUBG Mobile?

PUBG Mobile is a mobile version of the most popular PC game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Simply called PUBG Mobile, this game is available for both Android and iOS devices. It was developed by PUBG Corporation which is a subsidiary of Bluehole – a South Korean video gaming company.

Later, the company partnered with Tencent Games to publish this game on Android and iOS devices. The mobile version has been designed exactly like its PC version however, it is an early stage and that’s why the company is rolling out features one by one.

Minimum Requirement to Play PUBG Mobile

First thing first, this is an online game and can’t be paused. Once you’re in, you either play or quit. You can play using Wi-Fi or mobile network, all it needs a lower ping. If your connection’s ping is high, the game will start lagging.

Minimum specifications requirement include at least 2GB of RAM, though we suggest at least 3GB of RAM. Processor should be Snapdragon 625 or greater than it. One thing is good that it automatically sets the graphics based on the processor your handset has. Plus, your device should be running Android 5.1 or higher (if you have Android phone) and iOS 9 or higher (if you have Apple-branded device).

By now, I have tested this game on several smartphones including Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Honor 7X, Honor 9 Lite, Honor P20 Lite, Oppo RealMe 1, Nokia 7 Plus and OnePlus 5T. Among all these phones, the gameplay was flawless on Nokia 7 Plus (graphics automatically set to minimum by game itself) and OnePlus 5T (graphics automatically set to maximum by game itself).

How to Play PUBG Mobile

It is a battle royale game which means all are against all. You will need to kill every person. The game takes 100 players to an island where you will be dropped with nothing. You will need to find weapons and other equipment from buildings and start killing everyone. The last person standing will get “chicken dinner”. 😛

PUBG | Erangle Map

Now, there are three modes: Solo, Duo and Squad. In the solo, you will go alone whereas you can select a partner in duo. In the squad, there will be four people including you. I prefer squad as your partners can revive you from being dead and will give you better support when some other squad is trying to ambush you.

Now the game has two maps: Erangle and Miramar. While Erangle is a rural area with so many plants, glass, bushes and trees; the Miramar is an urbane area with rocks, sand and several houses.

As soon as you land, the game area starts to decreases its size automatically after a certain period of time; forcing players to get closer to other players (enemies). It gives you a proper warning for everything, whether the size of the play area is being decreased, someone is shooting at you, a vehicle is coming closer or you are in the red zone (an area where the game automatically drops bombs).

Each game lasts around 30 minutes if you can make it to the climax.

PUBG Mobile New Update

The recent update which was pushed just a couple of days back has brought a whole new experience. Now the game has FPP (first-person perspective) mode which means you will play as “you”. You won’t be seeing your character, it is all about that you are looking through your character eyes. It has made the game exactly like PC.

PUBG | TPP Mode

Anyway, the game still has that TPP (third-person perspective) mode where you can see your character. If you’re a newbie, you should start with TPP mode. The new update also allows you to keep a third weapon i.e. a small gun like the pistol. Previously, you could only keep two guns at a time.

PUBG Mobile Lags and Server Problems

As the game is in its early stage and updates are rolled out periodically, you might see random lags and sometimes “failed to connect to the server” despite having a good connection. Don’t worry, it is from server side as they are constantly working to improve the server efficiency. The good thing is you can re-enter the match as soon as the server starts responding.

Plus, this game causes excessive battery drain. So if your device has a small battery, good luck keeping it connected to the power source. We would suggest having a phone with at least 3,000 mAh battery.

My Opinion

I have been playing this game since last two months and have loved the controls, gameplay and user experience; thanks to the OnePlus 5T. This is a very addictive and time-taking game. Heck, I upgraded my internet connection just to play this game. Anyway, the best thing is that this game is completely free to download. So what are you waiting for? I have already given you the basic idea of this game, go ahead and try. And yes, do leave a comment if you get “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner”.
