Upcoming Snapdragon 660 Powered Xiaomi Mi 6X Benchmarked, Outperforms Oppo R11

Xiaomi to come out with a new range of smartphones, starting from what is currently known as the Xiaomi Mi 6X, powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor. The phone will be priced around INR 20,000 keeping it within reach for many buyers.

The said device is codenamed “Jason” and has been benchmarked recently for its GFX performance creating quite a bit of attention for itself. Earlier speculated to be called 6C, the 6X will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor with a massive 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. At the back, there will be a 12 mega-pixel dual camera while the front is said to be a 4 mega-pixel unit.

It must be noted that the existence of the alleged Mi 6X is still unconfirmed by the manufacturer, however, it is likely to be true. On the other hand, the 6C might as well be a separate device altogether and will possibly be equipped with Xiaomi’s in-house developed processor Surge S2 just like the Surge S1 powered 5C before it. The Snapdragon 660 remains for the 6X.

Benchmark Performance
The Xiaomi Mi 6X or the Jason was benchmarked by Geekbench for its graphical performance. The process revealed quite a few details about the phone’s specifications and they look pretty interesting. The Snapdragon 660 processor is octa-core and clocks highest at 2.2 GHz. It is said to be manufactured through the 14nm process. The phone is installed with the Android Nougat 7.1.1 and has a 5.1-inch Full HD screen with 5-finger gesture support. The GPU is listed as Adreno 512.

Its benchmark performance has been put against the Oppo R11 which already has the Snapdragon 660 processor. However, the Mi 6X seems to have outperformed its rival with the single-core score of 1700 and multi-core score of 5831 compared to R11’s 1601 and 5823 respectively. These numbers from both the phones are quite impressive and on par with the Snapdragon 820 processor.
