With the launch of Galaxy S10 on the head, Samsung is hosting an event on November 14 for the launch of its new Exynos chipset which will possibly power the next generation flagship phone. The chipset is expected to be the Exynos 9820.

The chipset likely to come with the Galaxy S10 and later on with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. The processor is the direct successor to the Exynos 9810, which can be seen powering the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 from earlier this year.

The main highlight of the Exynos 9820 is that the chipset is manufactured on the advanced 7nm LPP process that will be produced with the help of EUV lithography technology. Further, the chipset is expected to have a total of eight cores – a combination of dual Exynos M4 cores, dual Cortex A75/A76 cores and four Cortex A55 cores.

The Exynos 9820 is expected to deliver a 20 percent improvement in performance and the reduction in power consumption by up to 50 percent at the same time.

The chipset is also expected to come with the dedicated NPU and will be able to execute complex AI features as well as machine learning.

As far as 5G is concerned, Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 9820 chip will also support 5G technologies with the inclusion of an Exynos 5100 modem. The company will be offering the 5G enabled devices as a special variant to the upcoming flagship. Let’s wait until the Nov 14 event and know about it better.
