Couple of days back, we told you that Xiaomi is working on a new budget smartphone. Called Xiaomi Redmi S2, the handset was spotted at a benchmarking website with a glimpse of some major specifications. Now, the handset has been surfaced again and this time, with some official looking photos.
Spotted at SvětAndroida – a Czech Republican website, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 features iPhone X-like back design. Built around a 5.99 inch display with HD+ resolution, the smartphone features a combo of 12 and 5 megapixels shooters on the rear. There is no information over front facing camera.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 and comes in three variants – 2GB RAM, 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC which contains an octa-core processor running at 2.0GHz of clocked processing speed.
What’s interesting is that Xiaomi is expanding the variety of colors for this handset and it might be the first ever Xiaomi-branded handset to come in 9 color variants – Silver, Gray, Pink, Red, Blue, White, Gold, Rose Gold and Black. Further, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 is backed by a 3000 mAh battery and comes with Micro USB port, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G VoLTE.
