Nubia Red Magic gaming phone leaked in pictures

Given the huge amount of attention the notch has been getting lately, which is actually starting to get on our nerves, it indeed feels good to read and report about something else in the smartphone industry.

Nubia, the sub-brand of ZTE, is on its way to introduce a smartphone meant for heavy-duty gaming. The phone is allegedly called Red Magic – whatever that means! The leaked images are not the clearest (we would like to believe it’s by intention), but they do reveal quite a bit about the soon-to-be-launched gaming phone.

At the front, the phone has a full-screen display with small top and bottom bezels while the side bezels seem to be non-existent. It is quite likely that the display will have the 18:9 aspect ratio and shall measure 6 inches. While we expect QHD resolution, however, a Full HD+ (1080p x 2160p) resolution is a certainty.

Given that good grip is all the more important for a gaming device, we expect the phone to be finished with a non-slippery material. After all, a gamer would like to be fully immersed into the gameplay and not concerned about the surety of the grip. The frame should likely be of metal.

Talking of the grip, the backside of the phone appears slightly bulged and angular so as to help in achieving a firm and a comfortable grip especially while gaming in the landscape mode. Having a flat back is not the most ideal design choice in this aspect. But we can see some more interesting bits at the back – an LED strip in the middle which is accompanied by what seems to be a fingerprint sensor, a single-lens camera and an LED flash. On the right side of the screen, we can see a Power button and the volume control buttons.

Coming back to the name Red Magic, we believe it has something to do with the Red button which is placed above the volume control buttons. We cannot say what it is for, but it will most likely have some kind of gaming related functionality. Perhaps it might be used to perform an action during gameplay.

The Red Magic gaming phone will be revealed soon on April 19 and it should come with the Snapdragon 845 chipset for the best possible gaming experience through a smartphone. Keep watching this space for more information.
