Nokia X6 to Launch Globally on July 19: Is it also coming to India on the same date?

Nokia X6 is the first Nokia smartphone with the notch. It was launched originally in China in May this year and has been the China-exclusive so far. However, there’s been a good interest in Nokia X6 in various markets outside China which recently prompted HMD Global to hint about the phone’s future global availability.

On that note, it seems the time is finally close when we will see the Nokia X6 getting launched in a number of markets. Starting July 11, the phone will first make its appearance in Hong Kong but it is not yet known if there’s any other country/region which will be getting the Nokia X6 on the same date. However, it is quite certain that the will phone will eventually become available in multiple countries in a phased manner.

This news also hints that the Nokia X6 could very well be launched as the Nokia 6.1 Plus for the global markets which could be a good strategy. If this happens, it would also mean that the X6 (or the supposed 6.1 Plus) will come under Google’s Android One program – meaning stock Android OS will regular and fastest OS updates for next 2 years.

Of course, this makes perfect sense because it is only in China that Google can’t deliver Android with its various services.

As far as India is concerned, there’s heavy speculation that the Nokia X6 is supposed to launch here this month itself, and it seems that we now have a date! However, take this with a pinch of salt because Nokia is yet to confirm about the phone’s India launch. But we would now like to believe that Nokia X6 would come as the Nokia 6.1 Plus whenever it is launched in India. The primary specifications – Snapdragon 636 with 4/6 GB RAM and 32/64 GB storage – will remain unchanged.
