Only yesterday, we reported that the 10th anniversary Samsung Galaxy S10 would likely come with a triple camera setup at the back. And even if you might not have warmed up to this news yet, we now have something similar to report about LG.
LG’s next flagship, the supposedly called LG V40, could also sport a triple camera setup at the back. Not just that, the LG V40 could very well be the first smartphone, at least from a mainstream manufacturer, to come with 5 total cameras – triple camera at back, dual camera at front. Isn’t that going to be something!
The LG V40 is going to be the true successor to the LG V30, a smartphone known especially for its audiophile-friendly capability with the Quad DAC. Also, the LG V30 has a dual camera setup at the back with the secondary lens being used for wide angle photography. The overall unit is quite good, but mostly a bit underrated.
In the recent past, LG also launched V30S ThinQ and V35 ThinQ smartphones that have some minor improvements over the V30. With the rumored V40 though, LG intends to deliver a proper upgrade over the V30.
There are no details as such about the functionality of the main triple camera as well as the dual front camera. However, if we have to make a guess, we would say that the 3rd lens (in the main triple camera) might turn out to be the telephoto lens for achieving optical zoom or perhaps it might be used to calculate depth for Portrait/Bokeh shots.
On the other hand, the dual camera at the front would come with a Face recognition system and the two lenses are said to read the face in a 3D format to make the whole system as secure as possible. Of course, we can expect the LG V40 to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm as well as LG’s famous Quad DAC for some amazing music-listening experience.
