The South Korean company has silently unveiled another one of its new ‘Q’ range of devices, LG Q8, even though the actual launch is still some days away (but within this month).
Similarities between the Q8 and V20 are quite clear such as the Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage (V20 also has the 64 GB variant). Expectedly, the storage is expandable via microSD card. Surprisingly, it will run the Android Nougat 7.0 which is not the latest version of the Nougat (that is 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 in some devices).
Also, the design from the front and the back is pretty much the same as the V20 including the secondary display screen at the top portion of the main display panel.
The display, on the other hand, is slightly smaller at 5.2 inches but it is QHD of Quantam IPS variety. Given the similarities and the smaller screen, no wonder the Q8 is regarded as the mini V20 in essence. In many ways, it is a much more premium handset compared to the Q6.
Impressive specifications don’t end here though, the latest Q device packs a pretty high-end camera with a pair of 13 mega-pixel lenses where the primary lens has an aperture of f1.8 while the secondary lens has an f2.4 aperture. What makes the camera appear even better is the inclusion of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The front camera is also not too bad at 5 mega-pixel. Lastly, the battery is a 3,000mAh unit.
Yes, there is a fingerprint sensor at the back as well as the Quad DAC (for hi-res music) for seemingly one of the best audio qualities among smartphones.
Keep watching this space as we bring more updates about the Q8’s launch.
