Honor Magic 2 with 5 Cameras, Slider Mechanism & All-Screen Design Launched

Giving an end to those leaks and rumors, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor finally launched its much-rumored smartphone – the Honor Magic 2. It has been launched in three variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB ROM, 8GB RAM with 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM with 256GB ROM priced at CNY 3,799 (approx. ₹40,300), CNY 4,299 (approx. ₹45,000) and CNY 4,799 (approx. ₹51,000) respectively. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed anything related to its launch date in India.

Honor Magic 2 Specifications and Features

Starting with the highlights, the handset comes with the slider mechanism for the front-facing camera; much like the Oppo Find X. The slider packs its front-facing camera as well as 3D sensors for facial recognition. The handset also comes with Yoyo – an AI-based virtual assistant.

The smartphone is built around a 6.39 inches full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.5 screen-to-body ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut, 403ppi pixel density, and 2340×1080 pixels of resolution. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by Huawei’s top-end HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor.

Coming to the imaging department, the Honor Magic 2 features triple rear camera setup comprised of 16MP Primary (with f/1.8 aperture), 24MP monochrome (with f/1.8 aperture) and 16MP super wide-angle (with f/2.2 aperture) sensors. It also features dual front-facing camera setup comprised of 16MP (with f/2.0 aperture) and 2MP sensors for 3D face unlock. It also has a fingerprint sensor.

The Honor Magic 2 comes with USB Type-C port, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 4G with VoLTE. It is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery which supports 40W Magic Charge which, according to the company, can fully charge the handset in 55 minutes. Further, the handset measures 157.32×75.13×8.3mm in dimensions and weighs 206 grams.
