Expanding its line-up of Android-powered smartphones, BlackBerry has outed a new handset – Motion. Unlike the company’s previous launch – the physical keyboard-toting KEYOne – Motion is a regular smartphone that packs in a full-touch display. The smartphone was also rumored to be launching with the name Krypton, a few days back.

Speaking of, the facade of BlackBerry Motion is home to a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS LCD panel of 1080×1920 pixels resolution and a pixel density of about 401ppi. Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s efficient Snapdragon 625 SoC, having a 2.0GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 506 GPU. In addition to that, there’s 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB in size.

The device is IP67-certified for dust and water protection. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat and will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo sometime next year.

Handling imaging duties for BlackBerry Motion is a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and two-tone dual-LED flash. Up front, there’s an 8MP camera for the selfie lovers out there.

The Motion includes all standard connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB Type-C. There’s also a front-mounted fingerprint below the display. The whole package is backed by a pretty-sizeable 4,000mAh battery.

BlackBerry Motion will be available in the Middle East and UAE at a starting price of around $460. That said, there’s no word yet about the smartphone’s availability in other countries.
