When we talk about high-end smartphones that are desirable to own, we would usually hear the names Apple and Samsung. Well, most of the times at least. These two companies, virtually, are the masters of the top end mobile phone market. So, if you are not Apple or Samsung, how do you make your products standout?
The answer probably lies in following the footsteps of OnePlus – launch flagship-level phones at mid-range prices. And that’s exactly what Asus seems to be doing.
The company has today launched the Zenfone 5Z in India at a starting price of Rs 29,999. That is good, but what is truly impressive are the specifications. So what are they?
ASUS ZENFONE 5Z SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
Let’s start with what is possibly the best part of the specification – the processor. The Zenfone 5Z is equipped with the Snapdragon 845 chipset along with a minimum of 6 GB of RAM. The minimum inbuilt storage is 64 GB. Furthermore, there are two more variants – 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage.
Moving towards the display, it is no less impressive – measuring at a humongous 6.2 inches, the IPS LCD panel delivers Full HD+ resolution (1080p x 2246) along with maximum brightness of up to 550 nits. Also, the display supports DCI-P3 color gamut for one of the best reproduction of colors no matter what is being viewed. And of course, it comes with a notch but it appears to be more usable than maximum Android smartphones that have one.
There’s quite a heavy emphasis on AI, which is said to enhance the functionality of the Snapdragon 845 chipset as well as the main camera setup. On that note, the Zenfone 5Z has a dual camera module at the back with a combination of 12 MP + 8 MP lenses, in which the primary 12 MP lens is assisted with 4-axis OIS as well as AI enhancements that is programmed to read 16 different scenes to deliver improvised color saturation and white balance accordingly.
Furthermore, the secondary 8 MP lens is a wide-angle lens with a field-of-view of 120-degree. The aperture sizes for the primary and the secondary lenses are f1.8 and f2.2 respectively. The front camera is also an 8 MP unit with the aperture size of f2.0. As far as the video recording is concerned, the main camera can record 4k videos at 60 frames per second.
For enhanced audio experience, the phone can play Hi-Res music (24-bit audio files). Additionally, it gets SmartAmp and DTS Headphone 7.1 surround sound for an overall immersive listening experience. For security, there’s fingerprint sensor and facial recognition system. There’s the 3,300 mAh battery onboard with the support of QuickCharge 3.0.
The Asus Zenfone 5Z will be available through FlipKart from July 9. So hold on with your money!
