Asus has been busy with the recent launch of the Zenfone Zoom S in India, and the company, it seems, is not in the mood to rest as it has introduced six more smartphones under the Zenfone 4 brand. These are – Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Pro, Zenfone 4 Max, Zenfone 4 Max Pro, Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro.
Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Pro
To start off, the Zenfone 4 will be offered in a choice of two processors – Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660 – and likewise, each will be equipped with either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. However, what will remain common in both variants is the internal storage of 64 GB.
Secondly, on the Zenfone 4, the display will be of IPS LCD type and will measure at 5.5 inches delivering the Full HD resolution. It will have the protection of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. Other features include 3,300mAh battery, dual SIM support and USB-C port.
Perhaps the most interesting bit is the dual camera setup in which the primary lens will be of 12 MP with an f1.8 aperture and the secondary lens of 8 MP. The primary lens will also get the OIS. The camera will be capable of shooting 4k videos as well. Lastly, the front camera will be an 8 MP unit with an aperture of f2.0.
Coming to the Zenfone 4 Pro, the device will be powered by the mighty Snapdragon 835 along with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage as well as an option of 128 GB storage. While the screen size will match the Zenfone 4 with 5.5 inches and the resolution of 1080p, it will be an AMOLED unit.
The dual camera will be more capable with a 12 MP primary lens having an aperture of f1.7 with OIS and lazer autofocus. The second lens will be bigger at 16 MP and will be capable of 2x optical zoom as well as telephoto. The front camera will be an 8 MP unit. Lastly, the battery will be slightly bigger at 3,600mAh.
Zenfone 4 Max and Zenfone 4 Max Pro
The Zenfone 4 Max will be a less powerful handset with the processing power of Snapdragon 430 (or probably 425). It will be offered in three RAM and storage options – 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. Impressively, the phone will pack a massive 5,000mAh battery for supposedly outstanding life as well as a fingerprint sensor. Also, there will be a dual camera setup at the back with the primary lens being a 13 MP unit with an aperture of f2.0. The front camera, on the other hand, will be an 8 MP unit.
The Zenfone 4 Max Pro will be largely similar with two choices of RAM – 2 GB and 3 GB – but with one storage specification of 32 GB. However, the biggest difference is in the dual camera setup with both lenses of 16 MP.
Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro
Zenfone 4 Selfie will also come with the Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The Selfie Pro, on the other hand, will be powered by the Snapdragon 626 processor with a choice of 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. The exception these two phones have is that the main camera is a single-lens unit while the front one is the dual camera.
On the Zenfone 4 Selfie, the rear camera will be a 16 MP unit. That is it. Moving on to the front camera, the primary lens will be a 20 MP unit with an aperture of f2.0 and an 8 MP secondary lens. This changes to 12 MP for the front dual camera on the Selfie Pro. Lastly, both models share the same 3,000mAh battery.
There is no detail on the prices of these handsets so far, and we do not know if or when any of these will be available in India. Keep watching this space for further updates on this.
