Leaked renders are an effective way of generating pre-launch buzz about virtually any form of device that’s popular enough. As far as the smartphones are concerned, we are at a stage where the design factor is changing at a rapid pace. This is largely due to the fact that nearly all manufacturers are putting great effort into acquiring that magical all-screen design for their next launch.
On that note, we are approximately 2 months away when we will finally see the three upcoming 2018 iPhones from Apple. One of those iPhones, said to be the budget iPhone, has been leaked in a number of very clean renders where its design gets compared to that of the current iPhone X.
Starting with the front, both the current Apple flagship and the supposed 2018 budget iPhone look absolutely similar other than that the upcoming iPhone is larger with a 6.1-inch display (compared to X’s 5.8-inch screen). Secondly, this will be the only one out of the three iPhones which will sport the LCD display.
Moving towards the backside, the difference from a distance is clearer. The rendered iPhone is shown with a single camera setup at the back while the X has a dual camera setup. Also, it is a possibility that the frame of this particular upcoming iPhone is made of aluminium compared to the steel frame of the X.
What is similar between the backside of the two iPhones is that they are both made of glass. This indicates that the budget iPhone shall also have the wireless charging feature. Lastly, we expect none of the three iPhones to carry the 3.5 mm audio jack.
Apple is said to launch the three iPhones in following screen sizes – 5.8-inch OLED (improved version of iPhone X), 6.5-inch OLED (iPhone X Plus) and the budget 6.1-inch IPS LCD iPhone. Keep watching this space for more information on this as well as other upcoming smartphones in 2018.
